Grace Syson

I am an enthusiastic, dedicated and friendly individual, eager to gain experience in the field of work. I am able to work in demanding environments, whether in a team or alone. After recently returning home from a 6 month backpacking trip around South East Asia, I believe to have gained strong cultural awareness and compassion for those less fortunate. This encourages me to work harder and strive to be a better person, with the goal of giving back within the community and on a wider scale.

• During college I volunteered at my local primary school with year 1, this was my first experience with young children and involved reading and writing with them, helping with creative activities and assisting in outdoor playtime.
• After travelling Asia I volunteered for 3 weeks as an English teacher in a primary school in rural Thailand with 1,200 students. I taught 3-4 hours a day, 5 days a week alongside my partner. The impact this had on the children was amazing to witness, I also gained massive confidence, organisation and leadership skills.
