Teaching Philosophy

Developing a positive psychological approach to our work as teachers has become even more relevant, I feel, over the last few years and this has been a key area of interest to me. Each school should have their approach to this, but as we know when it comes to children, one size does not fit all. Schools need to be focusing not just on academics but the whole child. I am passionate about nurturing children's strengths. This approach should be embedded throughout the school day with the language to reinforce it. Children need to be challenged academically and acquire and practise the ‘soft skills' they will need in the future for example resilience, creativity, questioning, humility and team work.
