This role involved collaborating within a small team, conducting stock checks, mixing paints, handling and maintaining machines, handling any returns or exchanges- minimising dissatisfaction among clientele.
Resolved any customer complaints effectively, assisted customers in product selection, managed office phone calls and remained up to date with new products and talking to representatives from various companies such as Hamilton, Dulux and Crown.
I have gained valuable person skills, communication and confidence to overcome high pressured situations or verbal abuse given by some customers.
As a volunteer at South Pembrokeshire Hospital the role entailed talking to elderly patients in the outpatient ward and helping nurses distribute beverages and food.
I also volunteered in Withybush General Hospital pharmacy, my responsibility was to check medication stock, throwing away an expired medications, transporting medicines and equipment to various wards, maintain a clean and tidy environment for the pharmacists and organise medications by date order on shelves
Volunteering at the pharmacy I learn't to carry out daily tasks accurately and efficiently, adapted to a fast paced environment and demonstrated respect, friendliness and willingness to help wherever needed.
My time working as a garnish chef I adhered to strict hygiene standards, ensured a clean working environment and collaborated with suppliers, secured fresh ingredients daily and worked within a team. I ensured that the kitchen and stock rooms kept to health and safety guidelines to keep food storage safe, prevent spoilage and minimise cross-contamination risks. I also cleaned and serviced kitchen appliances, maintaining good working order of grills, stoves and ovens.
My time here taught resilience to pressure, communication with the head chef and waiting staff and attention to detail.
As a labourer and machine operator onsite I followed safety procedures for accident-free working conditions, regularly communicated with colleagues enhancing team coordination on large scale projects. Aided skilled workers, contributing to timely project completion and demonstrated excellent teamwork skills whilst carrying out manual tasks. I also took additional training to broaden skillset and increase versatility on-site, improved onsite safety by removing debris, assisted in heavy lifting and other physical activities. I followed instructions with strict attention to details assigned under minimal supervision and operated various machinery such as diggers and dumpers, electrical tools and tractors.
During my work here I learn't practical, observational and communication skills.
I volunteered working with children at Castle School primary. My main duty was to help children gain skills outside the classroom: engaging in sporting events or participating in ‘Outdoor School' activities. These activities helped children learn about bushcraft skills, assembling tents, cook and general survival techniques in the wild. Furthermore, I taught children about wildlife and different animal species.
