My name is Georgia Hancock, I am 21 years old and currently working at Bilingual Day nursery in Ravenstone. I am hoping to be able to volunteer for one day a week at your school to offer any support where needed whilst strengthening my professional development before applying for teaching jobs next year.
My ambition for teaching and working with children stemmed from my childhood and has followed me through to later life, growing with each placement I’ve experienced and within the nursery setting I currently work in.
I have completed my primary education degree and am looking forward to further developing my professional development by spending time with the children, learning how to better my practice and offering my skill set in a new school. I have demonstrated a high level of teaching within previous placements and have learned observed a high level of practice which I am eager to take forward into my own practice.
I pride myself in being a reliable individual with excellent communication and relationship-building skills. I take instruction well and learn quickly to achieve task requirements. Through working in a nursery I value the importance of team work within educational settings in order for things to run smoothly and this is something I revel in.
Behaviour management
D of E: I completed my bronze D of E award in 2018. For this award I volunteered for three months at the Children’s society charity in Ashby De aka Zouche. This gave me a strong work ethic, taught me how to be punctual and take instructions.
World Challenge: I spent the month of July in Madagascar, where we helped to build a school for a rural village. During our time there we spent time with the children teaching them English and embracing their culture. For this challenge I spent a year fundraising the money to take part.
