I am a motivated and enthusiastic young individual looking for an engineering apprenticeship that allows for the development of new skills and ultimately a career in an industry that is of great interest to me. I feel I have already gained a good level of understanding regarding what skills I need to work as part of a wider team. I demonstrate a lot of these skills when I take part in sports such as football which I play weekly
as part of Clitheroe football club, golfing which has become a strong passion of mine and recently darts. I am a member at Great Harwood Golf club where I have played many games over the last year. Most recently I spoke with the club’s president to discuss the rule of junior members not being able to play on a Sunday which was a historic rule set by the golf club many years ago. Due to the commitment, I have showed the club along with my passion this matter was brought up at the members meeting. The outcome was in my favour and so now at the golf club juniors can play on a Sunday following any competitions. I felt a huge achievement.
My interest in engineering has become apparent to me over the last year as I have had the opportunity to help my uncle who is an electrical engineer. I understand there are lots of different aspects to engineering and I am keen to better understand these. It is for this reason that I have applied and been accepted onto the aspiring engineer’s course with training 2000. This will begin in March 2025 each Thursday from 4.30-7pm. Here I am hoping to gain a better understanding of all the aspects of engineering which in turn will help me decide the area I would like to specialise in. I feel very lucky to have been given this opportunity.
In any spare time I have, I also like to spend time with friends and socialise with my large family, often taking care of my three younger cousins at the weekend.
