I am a motivated first year university student looking to find a job for the summer and the next few years whilst I study. I would like to gain experience in a field I have not yet worked and be given the opportunity to use my transferable skills such as communication and the ability to learn new skills quickly that I have learnt from other jobs. My current jobs are very social with lots of speaking one-to-one and in groups with both adults and children. I think hospitality would be a perfect fit so I can work in fast paced environment and provide a good customer service whilst learning new skills and providing value to the team.
As a lead coach at little kickers I deliver engaging classes to up to 18 children aged 1 to 8, it has greatly improved my communication skills as must cater my instructions to both parents and children. Meanwhile, my ability to adapt to the needs of others whilst working in a team is tested with each session. I must maintain professionalism when talking to parents alongside communicating effectively to groups of young children, by breaking down tasks into simple instructions and delivering them in an entertaining and playful manner.|
I have recently started tutoring younger students privately, I believe its a great way to support my already existing knowledge on the subjects that I teach. Furthermore, having to relearn topics from new syllabuses strengthens my ability to self-learn and gather knowledge quickly and efficiently.
As an FA-qualified football referee, on most weekends I work as a referee for youth football teams at clubs such as Sutton United. At this job I have to demonstrate my ability to communicate clearly and make quick decisions while under pressure. This would prove useful at any job as it shows I am good at working on my own, in a team and resolving conflicts.
