During my last vessel, I was given the opportunity to maintain a full navigational watch and make collision avoiding decisions as well as operating the radio communications under supervision of the Officer. Where I was able to put all knowledge learned over the cadetship into practice.

Marella Discovery 2, a 264m cruise ship was my 3rd placement. During this period I was given more responsibility including; communications and leading mooring stations, leading the boat deck during drills, conducting inspections and maintaining a navigational watch under officer supervision.

Marella Explorer 2 was may 2nd placement, where I started vastly improving my knowledge of bridge operations in the arrival and departures. During this placement, I experienced a dry dock, enabling me to take part in projects rarely experienced by cadets, allowing for a deeper understanding of the vessel operations.

My first placement as a cadet was on an Oil tanker for 3 months, operating around the Gulf of Mexico. This vessel gave me a general insight into the operation of the maritime industry and an invaluable experience with handling of cargo in addition to basic seamanship and maintaining navigational watches.
