I am self-employed here, my friend and I rent the salon, I offer all services hairdressing related. We both manage the day to day running of the salon, and I handle all the accounts and paying of bill's etc. I offer a full range of services from Classic uniform layer cuts, Perms etc. to modern, Balayage, Foilyage, Ombre etc. My clientele ranges from children to Ladies in their 90's. (Colour clientele from 16+). I have many customers that I have done their hair for up to 23 years now.
Here I worked as an agency worker from Protocol, covering sick leave for the practical part of the Level 2 Diploma in women's Hairdressing course. I did also help with homework and recapping what had been covered in theory.
In this role I also;
I started here in August 2008 as a health and safety inspector going around salons where we had learners placed ensuring the salons were safe for learners to work in, and that the environment in which they were working in was acceptable. I then progressed to do my Level 3 Assessors qualification and my PTTLS and CTTLS qualification, of which I gained a Level 4 in. Later I decided to also do my Certificate of Education at Huddersfield University. I then went on to teach Level 2 learners (16–18-year-olds) Hairdressing skills, and 14–16-year-olds Principle learning in the Hair and Beauty sector at level 1. I taught 17+ Advanced and Creative Hair Professional Level 3, and Level 1 & 2 Maths and English Functional Skills, and continued the Health and Safety checks on all of the salons in which we had learners on placements. I was responsible for controlled assessments and marking assignments whilst teaching principle for learning qualification, and more recently the marking and giving feedback on the Level 3 Advanced and creative Hair professional assignments, mood boards, and uploading all of documents etc. ready for gateway on EPA Pro and anything else that related to that qualification.
