  • My role is a varied one and requires me to work flexibly on a day-to-day basis.
  • I work with other nurses to perform response duties, this includes supporting of settings including care homes, educational settings and asylum seeker accommodation that are suffering outbreaks.
  • I provide advice and guidance including the interpretation of guidelines and risk assessments to ensure outbreaks are limited as much as possible.
  • I manage a caseload of approx. 70 care homes.
  • I perform both proactive and reactive visits to ensure the Infection, Control and Prevention within the setting conforms to the Health and Social Care Act.
  • If they are seen to be falling short of the desired standards, I will support the settings to make changes required.

  • This involved travelling to schools and colleges to provide Relationship and Sex Education, this included delivering sessions on subjects such as HIV Awareness, consent and puberty.

  • As I gained more experience I was asked to Co ordinate the dept.
  • I would write the sessions as well and delivering them.
  • I would deal with bookings and management of junior staff in the dept.
