Asked to return to an operational role by the Board so as to provide a solid financial structure to the business unit prior to the introduction of a significant amount of new business that trebled the turnover for the site. This included the financial management of £40m of investment in buildings, plant and machinery and ensuring that the site management team had adequate operational and financial controls in place so as to support the phased ramp up of new business.
Following on from my time as a contractor, I was asked to return to Stadco to support the business with a number of new business opportunities, to support a re-financing exercise and also to ensure that the financial reporting systems were developed in readiness for disposal.
Following on from redundancy at Acertec Construction Products Limited, I set up the above company for a number and variety of contracting assignments.
Acertec Construction Products Limited (ACPL) consisted of six reporting units (four operational units). ACPL was the holding company for the four operating units that were previously part of British Reinforced Concrete Limited.
I was appointed Finance Director with full responsibility for all financial aspects and functions of the business.
I developed a finance function which was hands-on and was well integrated into the wider business with a good understanding of all business disciplines.
Following the creation of this Joint Venture in Valencia, Spain, I was appointed to the above position. As the sole Stadco representative at the company, i reported to the newly formed JV Board with full financial repsonsibility for the company.
