Having spent the first years of my professional career earning my living through sporting performance, I have a very clear understanding of commitment, presentation, value for money and accountability. I transferred these skills into coaching younger athletes, with success at world and Olympic level. With a desire to travel less, I opened my own business and was successful enough that after 20 years, one of the world’s leading bike brands bought my cycle store and employed me in a role to assist in the development of similar businesses. Leading by example is something I find rewarding, and with a good and varied career to date, will look forward to adding value within a new challenge.
I founded and developed a cycling retail business with a focus on financial performance alongside a significant local community inclusion. This was a great success resulting in a business aquisition by one of the worlds leading bike brands.
I had full responsibility for the development and training of Olympic standard athletes through major championships around the world. This was a coach led programme with significant accountability, enabling me to continue and fine tune the skills I had learned as an Olympic athlete myself.
Professional Cyclist representing a number of global brands, culminating in me competing for Great Britain at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics.
