  • In 2004 I left my I.T career to fulfil a personal desire to engage in full time Church work. My wife and I led a small congregation of around thirty people. Once again, we worked with people on an individual basis in various stages of life including marriage, divorce, drug addiction, and death.

  • Having taken the decision to retrain for a new career I passed the relevant exams and found work as a Technical Trainer with Amraf PLC, Basildon. The role involved the delivery of training courses to clients of varying abilities from new learners to professionals. As one of the first hundred people in the UK to pass the and found MCSE 2000 qualification I was promoted to Senior Instructor level in late 2000. When Amraf PLC went into liquidation in 2001, I took a role in Kings Cross London rolling out the MCSE course for Direct Computer Training (DCT). Having rolled out the course with minimal resources I decided to move on to new challenges.

  • In this capacity I worked for a local dealer before gaining employment with Hoover PLC. This was followed by four years as a sole trader in my own small business. This role involved daily interaction with customers in their own homes. This role required the ability assess and diagnose mechanical and electrical faults. The work required significant manual and technical skills in order to complete work to a safe and functional standard.

Hobbies and interests

I have a very active leisure time as a marathon runner, cyclist and flatwater kayaker. I have completed three London Marathons and at the Chester Marathon in 2023 gained selection to run for England at Masters level.

Church of England, England, I maintain an active role in my local Church of England.

Affiliations

  • I am a keen distance runner having completed three London Marathons. I also cycle and have competed in flatwater kayak racing.

Accomplishments

At the Chester Marathon in 2023 if finished second in may age group for Englanc and third in GB. I was selected to run for England Masters. In 2025 I was received an AD Champions award for my fundraising efforts at the London Marathon for Action Duchenne (Muscular Dystrophy).
