• 2006-2010- This job was in the raw materials area of the blast furnace steel works.my role here was to insurer the smooth running and screening of materials to the blast furnace , which involved all aspects of mechanical maintenance on conveyer belts , screen and feeders , gear box and motors , main task was aligning flued drives with a DTI 2010-2016- Got promoted to shifts on the front side blast furnace this was a much more high pressure job being the last line of defence from the plant shutting down. The job involved working as part of a team of 4 fitters and 3 electricians . Duties involved inspecting and fault finding, fitting correct parts to insure the plant keeps running 2016-2024- Got promoted to blast furnace shifts leading hand , This was a very high pressure job , being in charge of the maintenance fitting team over seeing jobs are done correctly and to job methods . Woking in a highly dangerous environment safety was of most importance . Understanding when extra safety barriers need to be put in place as in extra permits and isolations , scaffolding making the woke site safe for my team and people around me. Duties also involved isolating ,issuing and cancelling hydraulic , pneumatic permits for contractors .

• Working as a contract fitter in Port Talbot steel works. Work contained various types of fitting jobs around site from fitting and setting scrapers ,changing blow pips ,aligning couplings, welding, burning, rigging, slinging .
• Used PPE and established fall protection to maintain safety procedures and apply protective measures.

• This job involved precision machine maintenance by fault finding ,making and fitting new part's using tool room machinery and engineering drawings . It also included the building of new machinery and change overs . Machines worked with the assistance of pneumatics, fiber optics vibratory bowls and cam shaft
• Adjusted metalwork machines and equipment to suit job specifications and achieve reliable outputs.
• Calibrated and tested machinery to verify optimal performance, adjusting settings to achieve desired outputs.

• Apprentice tool maker in a trade shop This job involved working with tool room machinery to a high tolerance using lathes, millers and surface grinders to make injection moulds and press tools . It also involved general factory maintenance pipe fitting etc .
