  • To support the operational programme lead for Westminster Connects and ensure that ensure that all data of positive tests is obtained from Public Health England (PHE), to oversee the transfer of the PHE data to internal databases.
  • Regular one to ones with team members, meetings with service partners such as PHE (Public Health England), NHS, One Westminster, Age Uk, North Paddington Foodbank and other relevant service providers and partners to ensure compliance with external policies and procedures.

  • Working as part of a large team of call handlers, in what was, in essence, the frontline response unit for Westminster City Council to the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • It was my duty to contact Westminster residents who had been identified as either vulnerable or self-isolating by the NHS, and to assess their needs in terms of food shopping lists, medical prescription requirements by co-ordinating deliveries of these essential items and referring residents to foodbanks when required.
  • All residential contacts were recorded/updated on numerous internal databases and systems and shared with other service partners such as the NHS and referrals made to charity bodies.

  • My role within ISEU (Integrated Street Enforcement Unit) was to primarily engage and identify the locations or 'hotspots' of street population, such as persons sleeping rough and persons who were identified as being homeless within the city of Westminster.
  • To use high levels of communication, interpersonal skills and awareness when dealing with persons in potentially threatening situations within street-based environments, and to assess the needs of those persons, establish what assistance can be provided by Westminster City Council and by other service partners.
  • Working with translation services to engage with foreign nationals, and also working closely with Home Office officials and providing details of foreign nationals to verify legal residence with the UK.
  • Working closely with various 'Outreach' officers across the city, co-ordinating visits and organising planned operations with the Metropolitan Police and having regular communication with residents and Councillors in terms of dealing with complaints made against street population.
  • Working closely with also service providers internally and externally such as Veolia Waste Contractors to ensure that all waste found at hotspot locations are removed and that the area is sanitised to prevent public health issues.
  • To routinely risk assess, plan and organise what is required in advance for each individual hotspot area, and to co-ordinate with the relevant service partners, to ensure personal risk to myself and other officers is kept at a minimum at all times.
