I have a positive attitude and always greet patients with a warm welcoming and smile. My experience of working for the NHS for a combined 30 years, as a clerical officer and a ward clerk, I have a full understanding of keeping accurate records and data protection. I am proactive and always looking at how to improve patient care. I contacted IT to update the patients' appointment letters, to include the directions on how to find the department. This has led to patients being on time and less stressed when they arrive. I am approachable and always willing to help and if I can't solve the issue, I will endeavour to find out, so next time I will know, improving the service we provide. My current and previous positions require accuracy, a keen eye, prompt action and good communication, good organisation skills and a high standard of work. Since being in this role I have created a document to ensure that the equipment we use is in date for services, I approached my management about creating a transfer of care form, to go with patients that are transferred to A&E so triage wouldn't need to rely on the patient for clinical details. This has now been implemented.
Greeted patients and booked them for appointments, assisting with enquiries in person and on the telephone. I apply my experience to help resolve a problem with an anguished patient by showing they are heard and understood in order to achieve a positive outcome. Improved department layout in reception and staff rest area by reorganising to create a less cluttered and more fluid working and resting environment. Each day I demonstrate good communication skills by updating the staff of changes that affect the department. Identified issues and reported to relevant departments on broken medical equipment and unsafe environments.
