This role is a seasonal position during Easter and Summer holidays of the school calendar year. Working as part of a large team supporting children and young people with additional support needs out with the classroom environment and as the name implies it is solely focused on fun play for the children. The objective of the Play scheme role is to maintain a safe and nurturing environment for the child or young person in their care. Remaining responsive to the varying/complex needs of different children, ensuring resources effectively distributed and aiding other staff with supervision to maintain safety for all. Adhering to strict health and safety policies, child protection, GDPR and data protection. The key skills I have learned from this role are Patience, adaptability, excellent observation skills, communication, leadership, and teamwork. During my time at the play scheme I was flexible and available for extra shifts when required.
I am currently a 6th year student at Johnstone High School , working towards National 5 Business Management, National 5 Geography, National 5 Mathematics and Health sector. Choosing subjects to study from a junior age allowed me to gain a passion for Administration , IT and Business, following the subjects on to qualification level. I am computer literate and confident using windows, Email, Excel spreadsheets, Microsoft, Teams, Word, power point and data entry and extraction using several data bases. With excellent problem solving and analytical skills I am confident I would continue to grow working in Administration within an office or customer service environment, with a clear focus to providing excellent service. I am a clear communicator in all forms, written, verbally ,email , telephone or face to face. I have learned to prioritise my workload focusing on timescales and deadlines requested. Throughout my senior years of school I have been given the honour of representing Johnstone high school Football and Badminton teams at National and Regional levels of competition, gaining valuable experience working as a team to gain positive results, learning to remain calm under pressure or when facing challenging situations both working as a team or independently. My commitment to these teams has been recognised and I have received many wider achievement awards from the school for my endeavours, flexibility, hard work and determination over the years. During 5th year I was asked to become a Mental heath Ambassador for the school, this was something I became very passionate about , supporting and implementing wellness or mindfulness programmes, promoting health or initiatives set by the school, health service or local authority. Wearing the branded clothing I was provided with ensured I was a visible support for other pupils to approach for help or advice if they were struggling mentally. This role taught me to develop valuable life skills such as listening, communication, confidentiality, being supportive of others, motivation, reliability , responsibility and a non judgmental approach. The programme gave me the ability to feel confident and safe to support my peers to develop wellbeing and reduce stress, while promoting positive relationships that helped create belonging for all.

Completed Bronze award of the Duke of Edinburgh, 6 weeks of volunteer work, 3 weeks of planning an overnight exhibition and physical challenge.
Working with Houston United Girls football club, I planned and facilitated training sessions for groups of 8-10 girls aged from 4-6 years old.
