  • Commission and write a monthly membership email, which has over 40,000 subscribers.
  • Editor for Balance magazine, Diabetes UK’s quarterly membership magazine with a circulation of 80,000.
  • I gather content and write for the Bulletin. I source, interview, and write up case study stories. I write features - most recently on more taboo topics like sex, grief and anxiety. I edit and review the magazine ready for sign off.
  • Attend photoshoots and contribute to design and layout of the magazine. I feed into the flatplan and coordinate with the ad manager and production manager to ensure seamless delivery of the magazine.
  • Oversee administration responsibilities for Balance by organising the planning meetings and the review/sign off process, I create a quarterly report and use it to influence planning for the next feature.
  • Use content management system and email software Dot Digital to build website and email content.
  • I’m a regular user of Google Analytics and practice SEO to inform content decisions.
  • I ‘own’ the Balance and membership webpages so I make sure they’re up to date and are following best practice. I repurpose print features for the website and study gaps in content to inform my work on the magazine.
