Achievements:

  • Joining Lloyds as one of the few external members of the newly created Business Support team, the main challenge for business was to communicate with IT to move from an IT driven release scope to a business-driven scope. Also, the cost of implementation was high and without an IT background, it was always hard to understand the estimates and potentially challenge them.
  • Using my background and experience in IT, I helped the business by reviewing the end-to-end delivery process, the release strategy, the release deliverables and estimates. At the end of 2015 we’ve been running an exercise of reviewing estimated IT budget for 2016 that has been finalized with a reduction to the original estimate of £1.4mil.
  • Successful migration of SAP Financial Consolidation and SAP BW from Oracle Database to SAP Hana.

Achievements:

  • Being part of the Target Operation Model (TOM) team, I’ve been leading the area of creating the SAP Application Development capability for Banking Delivery Centre. The main focus of this capability was to ensure a smooth transfer from the program structure to a Maintenance SAP Delivery organization model.
  • As part of TOM, I’ve defined and implemented the capability roles and responsibilities, hiring and retention strategy and the job descriptions for each role.
  • With support and valuable input from my team members, I’ve defined and implemented the development lifecycle processes for SAP Banking Services and SAP Business Warehouse, integrating these new processes and templates into Nationwide framework.
  • As the first BDCS SAP Application Delivery lead and with support from a brilliant team, we’ve delivered the first Banking Delivery Centre major Release consisting in:
  • Migrating current account from the legacy platform onto the SAP Core Banking platform
  • Launching new Current Account products: Flex Plus, Flex Direct and Flex One
  • Implementing several SAP support packs and solution upgrade for SAP Core Banking and SAP Business Warehouse.
  • Having an enthusiastic and professional team on my side, we have implemented a solid software development best practice for Technical QA, SDL processes, helping to reduce the number of incidents into production.
  • In collaboration with BDC teams and BAU teams we have created the methodology and governance of environments management and software version control to progress from a serial to a parallel SAP development landscape, enabling concurrent projects to run in parallel. This helped Nationwide to develop two major releases in parallel and to run Production Support tracks simultaneously.
  • In Collaboration with Environments management team we have created a robust SAP Release strategy to ensure a manageable transport path which supports several test environments, ensuring Nationwide a flexible approach to testing, saving costs by running releases in parallel into a fully controlled software version environment
