Maxillo-Facial department, NHS Lincoln

I undertook a weeks worth of work experience in this department in 2022, where I sat in on appointments and learnt valuable lessons in how to work effectively with experienced professionals, and how to undertake procedures like biopsies for cancerous cells. This enabled me to understand the specific margins tested for in a laboratory for complete eradication. I also realised the precision required and importance of accurate microscopy I found to be captivating.

GSK young professionals day work experience

This online day was my first introduction to how vaccines work and how the continuous research and development carried out in the company is crucial to the eradication of so many diseases worldwide. This experience inspired me to further expand my knowledge and undertake an undergraduate degree in Microbiology.
