At 25 years old I have worked my way up in the hospitality industry over 7 years from an associate bar server to a member of the management team through a healthy mixture of professional training courses and getting my hands stuck in. It has been an incredible, challenging and rewarding 7 years however I am ready to make a career change and use the skills I have learnt from my time as hospitality management into a more rewarding field. In a career I seek satisfaction; my most favoured aspect of my current job role is supporting my management team to keep on top of any administrative tasks and aiding in people management so that we can upkeep a well-rounded and fully developed team to ensure the day to day runs smoothly. As well as this, ensuring our establishment meets our ever-changing sales targets and adheres to and exceeds our extremely tight and monitored company standards.
I am a resourceful and.loyal employee with extensive understanding of training and mentoring a team and believe my approachable and understanding nature only furthers my qualifications for the roles I have previously had.
I have held my current position of Front of House Shift Leader at The Man in the Moon for 3 years, beginning my management training in 2022 in Poole before transferring within the company back to my hometown.
Through this position I have undergone JD Wetherspoons SL Academy, a programme consisting of both remote online training courses and in personal practical sessions including;
Through this training I have been appointed several different rolls within my management team, having been in charge of rotas for a team of approximately 50 staff (associates, team leaders, shift leaders and shift managers) using MySchedule.
I was also in charge of stock taking at my previous pub in Poole, cross referencing several reports bi-weekly (off loading reports, line checks, gain and deficit files), ensuring our establishment kept a reliable and efficient record of all FOH inventory, investigating anomaly losses and gains and performing MOS reports for our audits performed by head office.
All these key management skills I have endeavoured to use in the day-to- day operations of The Man in the Moon, ensuring great results both for staff and customer satisfaction.
I began my hospitality career at 18 at The Man in the Moon as a part time job on top of my studies at Island Innovation Sixth Form. As an associate I gained key skills that helped me further my aspirations within the field
