  • October 3rd to the present I have been working as a shop assistant at Go Outdoors in Launceston. This role is heavily customer focused with a large amount of time spent interacting with customers and trying to make sure they get the products they need whether its footwear, clothing or camping equipment.
  • My role at the shop also includes spending a lot of time in the Wearhouse bringing and booking in deliveries and then putting the stock out, as well as keeping the Wearhouse clean and tidy to make sure that it is an environment that is easy to work in as well as allows anyone to easily find stock if they don't know exactly where it is.
  • Finally my role also includes starting 2 hours before the shop opens and helping make sure that it is ready for opening and that all the tills are un tampered and the alarms all work.

  • To July 10th I was on a, kickstart program where I was a facilities management assistant (caretaker) for Launceston college
  • This role meant that everyday was different but would be mostly general maintenance such as doing the bins or litter picking to fixing door handles, hinges, benches and lights.
  • I would also do things such as cutting the grass and hedges using a variety of tools such as leaf blowers, hedge trimmers and strimmers.
  • Also I have done some painting work on a few rooms around the school to freshen them up. As there was always something to do this role meant that there was a lot of moving about and heavy lifting meaning that I have built up a good amount of stamina and can carry on and keep going.
  • This role was also part of a team so it meant that most often I would be working with someone else to be getting things done which has helped me build my team work skills.
  • Finally because this role was in a school this means I have experience in safeguarding making sure that no harm comes to the students weather it being making sure the kids aren't doing anything dangerous to making sure that there aren't any hazards such as things to trip over while we work.
