Motivated and reflective PGCE Secondary Biology trainee currently completing Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), with experience teaching KS3 and KS4 Science across mixed-ability classes. I am confident in delivering well-structured, engaging lessons that promote deep understanding, scientific thinking, and strong classroom culture. My practice is grounded in evidence-informed strategies, including explicit instruction, purposeful questioning, retrieval practice, and adaptive teaching to ensure all students, including those with SEND and lower prior attainment, make sustained progress.
I have experience teaching across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics within the AQA specification, planning practical investigations safely and effectively, and using formative assessment to inform responsive teaching. I am committed to high expectations, professional integrity, and continuous development as an educator. I am seeking an Early Career Teacher (ECT) position from September where I can contribute positively to a collaborative science department and support students in achieving both academic success and confidence in science.
