Gain experience working on a variety of Projects such as Hospitals, Warehouse, Schools and Industrial.

  • Producing electrical design drawings such as fire alarm, lighting, access control and containment following the RIBA Stages from stage 2 to stage 4/5
  • Preparation of electrical design calculations such as load assessment, cable sizing.
  • Leasing with other project professionals such as Architect and Mechanical in coordinating equipment within the building.
  • Reviewing submittals from electrical contractors in line with the British Standards and design specification.
  • Attending witness testing and producing a snagging list

I gain experience working on a variety of projects such as schools, hospitals and industrial facilities.

My responsibilities within these projects were producing:

  • I completed lighting design solution and calculation for diverse projects using industry standard software tool ( Dialux Evo) in line with CIBSE lighting guide to achieve the required lux level and uniformity. Producing lighting report.
  • I prepared the luminaire schedule and finalized the distribution board.
  • I performed cable size calculation with industrial standard software (Amtech) and by hand in accordance with BS 7671.
  • I performed the maximum demand calculation for various projects abiding by the BSRIA Rule of Thumb 5th Edition.
  • I produced the (SLD) Single Line Diagram, as this serve as a backbone in visualizing the power distribution, improving safety and ensure compliance with protection standards.
  • Attending Internal team and external (Client) design team meeting for projects.

  • I carried out lighting design solutions according to the guide RIS-7702-INS for several Train Stations in the West Midlands (Birmingham New Street, Moor Street, Erdington, Gravelly hills, Jewellery Quarter) etc.
  • Initially undertaking a site survey, followed by lighting design in Dialux Evo.
  • Design of lighting schemes and preparing of layout drawings in Auto Cad and Exported into PDF files to be issued to clients.
  • With additional energy payback calculations for clients to see how much money they might save in the course of the year(s).
  • Leading to retrofitting existing luminaires, upgrading with more efficient and modern technologies such as LED lights.

Despite the breve placement, it's really here that I gain an appreciation for the Building Services Industry and the Construction as a whole and wanted to make a career out of it.

  • I assisted with full Electrical Building Services Design requirements such as: Lighting, Power, Security, Fire Alarm design.
  • Familiarising my self with CIBSE Lighting guides, BS5839 part 1 for Fire Alarm, BSRIA Rule of Thumb 5th Edition.
  • Successful Developing 2D layouts with Auto CAD and producing 3D layouts and visuals using industry standards Revit MEP.
  • Working towards a required technical knowledge in accordance with the BS7671 and BG 32/2014.
  • Notably projects worked on were:

-Airfield Drive, Aldridege , Walsall - Manufacturing & Distribution Facility.

In this project I was tasked with the lighting design solution for the entire building .

-Battersea Power Station Redevelopment. - A power Station been transformed into a nine storey commercial mixed use building. In this iconic project which focuses on passive design and on-site renewables to ensure low energy use, I collaborated with other disciplines such as Mechanical and Plumbing Engineers coordinating our services in particular lighting, fire alarm, security system etc in Revit (MEP) ensuring there weren't any clashes.
