Accomplishments

One of my proudest achievements is completing the Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award; it was often challenging and took me out of my comfort zone when working with a team, as it enhanced my personal growth through learning from other mistakes and problem solving. In the volunteering section of the Duke of Edinburgh process, I completed six months at the EACH charity shop in Royston. EACH charity educates and exposes people to the difficulties faced and aims to ensure the best quality of life for children. This was beneficial as it developed my communication skills, meaning that I could understand people and circumstances. This is important for the course because it enabled me to participate more confidently with my ideas through class discussion and debates.

Certification

  • Channel 4 skills work experience - provided me an insight into the company, its values, the types of careers you can get from it, and how to answer questions when interviewed for a job
  • Journalists on Demand work experience (Springpod) - This work experience helped me as it gave me a deeper insight into the world of publishing and journalism; it kept me engaged through activities at the end of each module such as quizzes and webinars
