I am a hardworking and compassionate individual. I can work independently confidently but can also thrive in a team. My friends describe me as kind, caring and funny. Last summer I carried out a weeks work experience at Oriel Davies Gallery, Newtown. During my week there I helped produce materials for future exhibitions as well as helped make sure the two galleries remained clean by occasionally sweeping and mopping after closing time. I have been involved with Girl Guiding since the age of 5, and in July 2023 I completed my Bronze Duke Of Edinburgh Award. Quarter of the award was based around volunteering. For my volunteering, I decided to fundraise for Birmingham Children's Hospital by making and selling homemade fudge at a local street fair and in school. By the end of my volunteering I managed to raise over £300 for my chosen charity. I learnt to speak to customers, explaining my product and why I had chosen Birmingham Children's Hospital.
More recently I worked at The Big Sleepover Festival and Heart of Wales Festival on the merchandise stand. I worked independently at both festivals, ensuring stock was displayed effectively, assisting customers in selecting the correct size, taking card machine payments and reporting back to festival organisers when stock was running low.
Responsible for restocking between sales, assisting customers, taking payments. I was trusted to work independently on all occasions. A reference can be obtained from Mrs Sally Davies, festival organiser if required.
I assisted with the setting up of exhibitions. Prepared educational materials for workshops, to assist with visitor understanding of exhibits. Cleaned and tidied reception, exhibition and public areas. Set up rooms for talks and events according to exact project requirements.
Spent a week volunteering at the National Urdd Eisteddfod in Meifod as, part of the Criw Celf team from Oriel Davies in the arts and crafts centre. Meeting and greeting children and families and helping them create their stop motion animation based around local river animals and insects which would later contribute to a bigger art installation to be displayed at Oriel Davies Gallery.
