I feel extremely privileged to be a Teaching Assistant. I am currently completing my Level 3 Teaching Assistant apprenticeship at St Simon Stock Catholic School. My eventual goal is to become a primary school teacher. My apprenticeship finishes in December this year and I am looking for a teaching assistant position to start in January 2024. I love what I do and I want to progress more in the educational world.

My current position means I provide 1-1 or group support to students with special educational needs or English as an additional language . I have developed positive relationships with all of my students, I help them read, write and look after them day to day in the school setting. I create activities and revision tasks, provide emotional support and part take in invigilating for exams. Protecting the happiness of students has always been a key motivator and priority in my teaching assistant role. I commit to creating a safe and healthy environment with a foundation and balance of respect for all students and expand this to the whole school community provide a welcoming and healthy environment where students feel comfortable to explore their potential to succeed. I also support teachers in managing challenging student behaviour, conducting progress meetings to provide feedback and recommend appropriate action.

I changed continence pads, used hoists, changed catheters and stoma bags and prepared food. I tracked and documented all the clients behaviours, engagement and notable incidents. I also built strong patient relationships through compassionate care.
