I am currently a Foundation Year 2 doctor working within Belfast health and Social care Trust under NIMDTA foundation Training.
I have completed a range of Foundation posts as a doctor focusing on Acute medical experience, including Emergency Medicine, acute surgery and anaesthetic experience. I am interested in acute specialities.
Worked in Child and Adolescent Mental health service, Beechcraft inpatient Unit. Worked at SHO level, participate in care planning, mental state assessment, worked as part of an extensive MDT. Out of hours provided 1st on call over for General Psychiatry Cover including adult and child and adolescent psychiatry.
Surgical SHO between specialist Belfast City hospital on the Oesophagi- gastric team, and Emergency Surgical Unit in tertiary Major trauma centre (Royal Victoria Hospital). SHO ward cover, trauma team member, participated in the surgical take, and assisted in surgery.

Efficient assessment of patients, onward referral or discharge, required good team working skills, time management, and good practical skills ie Iv cannulation, US guided cannulation, arterial lines, reduction of fractures. During this rotation covered smaller ED department in Mater Hospital Belfast.Worked flexible hours, covering nights, weekends and bank holidays.
Daily PACU reviews (Post Anaesthetic Care Unit), includes patients with vasopressor requirements, difficult to manage post op pain and patients high risk of complication. Assigned theatre time with consultant supervision, opportunity to gain skills such as Arterial line insertion, US guided cannulation, spinal anaesthetics, IGEL insertion And ET intubations (under direct supervision). In a large District General Hospital.
Daily medical ward rounds, post take ward rounds, referrals, ward tasks, assessment of unwell patients, 1st oncall out of hours for all medical wards of the hospital. Efficient practice and good communication essential.
Participated in ward rounds, ward tasks, discharge letters, Cannulation, phlebotomy, out of hours 1st on call for medical questions and emergencies. Time management teamworking essential.
Provided ward cover for Phlebotomy, IV cannulation, Urethral catheterisation. Worked closely along side phlebotomy team. This was completed in 4th and 5th year along side medical school.
Worked as a Health care assistant testing for COVID 19 by nasal swab in Nursing homes and care facilities across Southern Health and social care trust during COVID 19 pandemic. Worked in Staff testing facility providing nasal swabs for staff for PCR testing for COVID 19.
