Summary

Competent in written English. Worked in a fast-paced environment. I got my qualification of HNC in childcare, and I have worked with Glasgow City Council up until November 2020, when I resigned from my job because my fibromyalgia prevented me from doing my job to the standard that I set for myself. I had started the counselling journey while working, doing an evening course through S.M.I.L.E., where I achieved my first certificate in counselling. Within my journey, I have learnt more about myself than I thought possible; however, the struggles that came up for me may not be fixed, but they are a work in progress, and I am addressing them. Within my HNC, I achieved a Personal Development Award Level 8 for addiction and all that comes with it. This gave me the insight that I needed for understanding drug addiction, which I counselled men for at my HND placement in Men Matters, as well as suicidal ideation. I am now qualified, having sat my Certificate of Proficiency. I am currently self-employed, having started my own business when I qualified. I have three clients at present in the evenings; two of them are online, and one is in person. I am also competent in neurodiversity, as I have twin boys who both have autism and one with suspected ADHD, my husband who has autism and suspected ADHD and my teenage nephew who has autism and diagnosed ADHD.
