I attended your open evening in February and I would like to apply for your apprenticeship opportunity, not only were my questions answered it was also a great opportunity to have a look around your modern offices. The chartered accountant apprenticeship specifically appeals to me as I have a strong desire to become an accountant, and to me is the ideal route into the profession, learning on the job as opposed to full time further education.
I came up to the academy and my love for accounting only increased when I took National 5 accounts last year and Higher accounts this year, I am also enthusiastic about business management and appear to do well in both subjects at school, and am keen to progress and gain professional qualifications in this field .
I have been brought up on a farm, and regularly help within the business, not only with farm duties but also with his bookkeeping which we use cashflow manager. I am a hard-working student at Ellon academy, and I always try my hardest in everything i do I'm currently sitting five highers . I enjoy all sports particularly swimming and I have swum for over 8 years now at the same club, currently I train with a mixture of both morning and night sessions and compete at the weekends. During my time at swimming club I have shown commitment, self motivation and teamwork.
I have competed at a national level multiple times all around Scotland and I am hoping to compete again nationally this April. Back in 2019 through my swimming club I went over to Greece for a week to train it was a great experience and it really helped my swimming before it all stopped because of covid . I also enjoy going to the gym as much as I can and enjoy seeing the progression in and out of the water.
In the summer I also enjoy golf, and with the McDonald junior golf team I played my part in helping us reach the Scottish area finals last year.
During my younger years I also attended Beavers, cubs and then onto scouts where I learnt variable life skills which will be useful through out my life time.
Currently I work for Aberdeen swimming academy (ASA) where I am a qualified swimming instructor and I am also a swimming teacher assistant, this on going experience have helped me develop key skills such as leadership roles, good time management, good communication skills with kids and parents and organising and planning lessons. I started out working for ASA in September and since then I have came runner up for assistant for the year and have gotten promoted to a senior assistant.
