• full time, 100% commission based sub-contracted by a variety of charities - Leeds Hospital charity, Marie Curie, NSPCC - Katana manages the process of signing up donors on a direct debit basis through fund raising activities in public locations. I joined at the most challenging time of the year and after soft skills training quickly became an effective agent. I was awarded the "rising star" recognition within a short period and then promoted to a mentor position within two months.

Specific responsibilities included:

• researched the relevant charity and shared knowledge within the team to build the most effective proposition.
• approached members of the public, created engagement and attempted to "close" by signing up new donors.
• attended events to develop potential donor opportunities, through this I developed the ability to self motivate quickly learning how to deal with significant rejection and start afresh with each new project.

I raised over £48000.00 over this period, and contemplated further advancement within the company (setting up own regional area. for operation), however came to the conclusion that a minimum guaranteed salary was essential at this point in my life.

• Prepared worksite by setting up required tools and supplies.Building the FTTP network on various sites, rodding and roping. then cabling up to a service point such as a telegraph pole outside a property or an underground box. I had no experience before joining Openreach. I learnt the role to a standard to enable me to train new starters.

• Working in the fresh department at Morrisons distribution centre at junction 41. Received instructions via wrist monitor and picked and packed into cages in a given time frame.

• Motivated and supervised training sessions for children 5-11 ensuring that they carried out their exercises safely and with fun.
