Fergus Jones

I am currently undertaking a program with the University Officer Training Corps. As an OCdt I have undertaken a number of both military and adventure training which is designed to develop individual leadership capabilities and team building skills. It has taught me to navigate stressful situations, exercise sound judgement during these situations and conduct assessment for improved performance.

My time during this position has given me training and first hand experience of customer service and maintaining a high standard of guest satisfaction. It has also developed my communication abilities not only with customers but also with team members which in turn has enhanced my ability to work within a team. On a professional level I have been routinely trained and tested on crisis observation, intervention and prevention means which aid in avoiding potentially dangerous situation. This position has also taught me lifesaving and medical care which has also been used in real scenarios.
