Bringing together deep expertise in Respiratory Medicine and a strong commitment to medical education, I am a strategic clinical leader dedicated to improving patient care and shaping the future of medicine.
As Foundation Training Programme Director, my leadership extends to nurturing the next generation of healthcare professionals. I have successfully introduced the national "Enhance Enable" programme within our Trust, a key initiative focused on elevating the quality of teaching and training for our foundation doctors. In this role, and as an Educational Supervisor and interviewer for national resident training recruitment, I excel at developing and mentoring, empowering their growth and ensuring they deliver high-quality, compassionate care.
I have also successfully led the implementation of the lung cancer screening programme (formerly Targeted Lung Health Check) in the Swindon area as the Responsible Clinician, working in close collaboration with the lung cancer screening team and wider multidisciplinary team. This programme has demonstrably improved lung cancer detection and curative treatment rates. My innovative approach to patient care is further exemplified by the creation of a multidisciplinary Chronic Cough Clinic. This clinic establishes a streamlined pathway that enhances patient outcomes and experience, significantly reduces waiting times, and optimises resource allocation, aligning perfectly with GIRFT (Getting It Right First Time) goals.
My ongoing commitment to advancing medical training includes the ambition to become a Fellow of the Royal College, further extending my impact within the educational sphere.
