Fawaaz Khan

Due to family relations I was able to volunteer myself to work within the business, here my main role was to answer phone calls and speak one on one with customers and other stakeholders. Throughout my time here I was speaking with customers and fellow employees on a regular basis, this allowed me to develop and improve my communication skills as well as my skills to work as a team. Within this work environment I had to be time effective and make critical decisions whilst under pressure all whilst supporting my team.

I was enrolled with a group of highly experienced technicians for work experience over the course of two weeks in a factory. Most of the work we did involved: repairing machinery so that they can continue to function, servicing and maintaining machines daily as part of a routine, moving and installing machinery and making sure the flow of production was maintained within the factory. All of these tasks required me to be time effective, have good communication skills within my team and also have good knowledge and understanding of the equipment used.

I was also assigned to their aero space engineering site, here I worked with a team of qualified engineers who taught me the basics on how to operate heavy machinery and design product dimensions on a software . Using the skills I was taught I was able to perform tasks they presented to me, an example being making a bench clamp out of a block of steel. These tasks also involved me having to be technically accurate upon my practical and developing skills
