I am a 20 year old undergraduate student, I have recently finished my last exams at university and am eager to start working. I am an enthusiastic and energetic individual looking to gain some experience working in various different industries/ sectors such as administration, clerical, hospitality, and retail. I have strong communication skills and perform well under pressure. I would love the opportunity to utilize my interpersonal skills while ensuring that those around me are positive, efficient, and motivated.
Work experience placement (The firm covers family law, wills, probate, and trust law). My voluntary work experience placement gave me an insight into a solicitor's day to day working life while allowing me to showcase my skills and make an impact by increasing productivity, showing a fresh outlook and reducing client service response time. I was able to observe a solicitor consultation which helped me understand the structure in which it was organised. Through analysing the skills used by the solicitor in the consultation I became aware of how and when solicitors use their skills.
My overall role for the week was to undertake various tasks as well as sort out files. I was responsible for a range of legal documents. During the placement I assisted the firm with different tasks such as carrying out research and drafting initial legal documents.
This ensured that a faster service was being delivered to clients while also decreasing my supervisor's workload, which allowed greater efficiency and focus on other tasks. I also helped create individual timetables and gave a presentation to the solicitors at the firm in relation to advertising. This increased productivity, morale and provided the solicitors with an optimistic, new approach.
