After Yates closed down I opted to stay with the company and move across to The Imperial Inn, where I performed the same duties as Deputy Manager.
Starting as a Bar Tender in 2016, I was quickly promoted to Team Leader. I was then further promoted to Deputy Manager in 2020. Basic roles of the job included drink preparation, customer service, cash handling, and cleaning. In my management role I was expected to do a number of things; Cash management at the start, middle and end of shifts. Locking up the building. Maintaining control of stocks, including ordering, counting, and solving problems with variance. Communicating with contractors regarding maintenance jobs around the building. Training new staff and ensuring all staff are performing at the correct standard. Completing rotas. Handling complaints and conflict from customers. Ensuring that the business is safe and legal.
