I currently work front of house at the Ice cream kiosk at the Fairhaven Cafe. I handle cash transactions and operate the checkout till during customer service periods.

Part of my role is to maintain a clean work environment, this involves cleaning down service work areas after service hours. This includes, mopping, sweeping, emptying bins and ensuring all areas are wiped clean.

During quieter times I remove stock from shelves and wipe all products down, checking product sell by dates. I also monitor stock levels and replenish stock when required. I am confident in operating the coffee machine and using the slush machine.

I work well as part of a team and I am very flexible with my hours, I am happy to cover other team members holidays and often take on extra hours or swap shifts to help other team members when needed. During school holidays when the café is much busier or when the weather is warm I often work past my finish time to ensure the kiosk is manned.

Customer service is a major part of my job role. I always aim to make the customers experience as smooth and efficient as possible, listening to their orders and repeating it back to them, or offering alternatives if the we do not have the flavour of choice that the customer wants.

I have also covered as a waitress waiting on tables in the café, this involve taking orders, serving food to customers, cleaning down tables and ensuring general service areas are kept clean and tidy.
