
I am an experiences healthcare administrator and Service coordinator with 17 years of NHS experience across operational management, patient administration and frontline clinical support. I am currently managing a team of 35 staff and I am responsible for staffing, rota management, sickness absence, return to work meetings, training all new staff and making sure all current staff stay compliant with any training. I deal with patient information requests and SARs requests from both patients and other hospital trusts around the UK and have also dealt with Romanian, Spanish and Canada health departments requests for information. I am skilled at implementing change and improving processes. My philosophy is to embrace new ideas - if something doesn't work, we can always adapt or revert back.
In my current position I manage and coordinate a team of 35 staff providing a 24/7/365 medical records and patient information service. Lead operational planning including rotas, workload allocation, staffing levels and service coverage. I oversee subject access requests (SARs) and patient information requests ensuring confidentiality and compliance with NHS procedures. Conduct return to work meetings, manage sickness absence and support staff wellbeing. I successfully manage and support a workforce where approximately 50% of my team are neurodivergent, promoting an inclusive and supporting working environment. I handle complex and sensitive queries from both patients and staff professionally and efficiently. I have implemented a number of new systems and processes to the department that have cut costs, reduced workload pressures and streamlined team workflows. I worked within a busy maternity triage department supporting midwives, clinicians and patients in a high pressure 24/7/365 environment. I managed staff rotas for a team of six to ensure continuous department coverage. I answered around 140 phone calls a day prioritising urgent and emergency situations appropriately assisted midwives with patient admission and booking processes using NHS computer systems. I coordinated emergency calls to the on call medical teams, anaesthetist's and neonatal teams during urgent deliveries' and maintained accurate patient records. I developed strong prioritisation and communication skills while working in that fast paced clinical setting.
