Affiliations

  • I am a successful and keen member of my local club (Whitburn Bowling Club) within the sport lawn bowls. Since the age of 14, I have represented both my local club in regional competitions as well as playing for my county, West Lothian, at both Under 14s, Under 17s, Under 25s and Ladies National level. Participation in this sport derives from four generations of family members, fostering a competitive and supportive environment outside of the workplace. By playing this sport, I have been able to build strong relationships with others, increased confidence in meeting new people and foster effective teamwork abilities. It also requires high-levels of commitment, resilience, patience and focus in order to be successful. Overall, whilst improving fitness and well-being, bowls has allowed me to use these transferable skills in other aspects of life, particularly in the workplace.
