Skills

Specialisation and subject-matter expertise in Chemistry (PGCE) and Biology (BSc/MSc) to A2, Physics to GCSE, and aptitude in technology, including proficiency in MS Office Since qualifying in 2018, my teaching practice has included daily use of interactive whiteboards

As a teaching professional, I have honed the skills required to be an exemplary classroom teacher; I believe being personable, empathetic and having a positive mindset directly impact student learning by fostering a secure, engaging, communicative and motivational environment that boosts students' confidence, resilience and academic achievement through innovative lesson delivery techniques, all the while guiding and supporting students

The creation of a safe classroom that all children deserve can be achieved through exceptional curriculum development, lesson structuring and forward planning Classroom management strategies like positive behaviour interventions can be implemented, along with conflict mediation (if necessary) Academically, a variety of tools from Interactive instructional methods, from verbalising, interactive whiteboards, around the room (circus) research tasks, quizzes Science specific tools for example: Human body models, slinkie’s, moly mods, magnets etcetera, as well as laboratory practical’s

As a science specialist, compliance with health and safety standards, risk assessments and evaluations (CLEAPSS) and Laboratory safety protocols would be stringently adhered to

Students from Y8 would initially be taught the rules on ‘Safety in the laboratory’, progressing onto Laboratory equipment proficiency (names of equipment and how to use), continuing up to GCSE or AS/A2, This allows the students to gain skills such as, hypothesising, following a method, creative problem solving, organizational and time excellence, analytical skills, data analysis and interpretation, which have wider world application, as well as having a immense understanding in Chemistry, Biology and Physics principles

Moving forward, I am committed to my own personal professional growth as well as my students and wish all to succeed Monitoring from KS3 to KS5 accomplished via assessment (End of topic tests, winter and summer examination processes), tracking student progress effectively Interventions being held if necessary

Tutoring background – I have been privately home tutoring students of KS3 (Belfast High), to GCSE and A2 students (Carrick College), A-level students (Ballyclare Grammar) The GCSE students have all gone onto further education after passing their sciences (6th Form) and the A2 level students have gone onto university Currently I am tutoring AS Life and Health Sciences ( )

Acta Neuropathologica, 2008-08-01, TDP-43 protein in plasma may index TDP-43 brain pathology in Alzheimer’s disease and frontotemporal lobar degeneration., 238 patients Plasma samples were tested, including 90 controls (no diagnosed Dementia). TDP-43 capture, and detection was accomplished by optimising the Sandwich ELISA (Immunoassay) technique, mouse monoclonal and rabbit polyclonal antibodies. Covalent cross linking (to Dynabeads), immunoprecipitation and SDS- Page immunoblotting was also used. Analysis: Using programs such as SPSS-v 14.0, comparison via Kolmogorov-Smirnov and Kruskall-Willis, Post-hoc Mann-Whitney, found elevated TDP-43 in; 46% FTD, 22% AD, 31% MND, 33% FTD + MND, 20% PD, 27% SD, 26% DLB, 43% CBD, 18% PA. Contrasted to only 8% of elevation in Control samples. Collaboratively working with the fellow authors on this project.
