Completed my pre-registration pharmacist training at Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust by undertaking a rotational competency-based training program to achieve underpinning knowledge and specified performance standards specified by the GPhC. Duties and responsibilities included assisting in the operation of pharmaceutical services and delivery of patient care, self-directed learning to support the collection of evidence to demonstrate competence and to undertake tasks to meet the performance standards. This was achieved through various rotations (namely renal wards, surgical ward, mental health , care of elderly ward, cardiology ward, attending anticoagulation clinics, medicines information, dispensary, community pharmacy, and audit project on the use of Teicoplanin in soft tissue infections).
Throughout my training year I was able to provide delivery of patient care and pharmaceutical services under supervision, whilst working within: my trust's procedures and policies and the accepted standards of practice, relevant legislation and regulatory requirements.
