I am an experienced and dedicated Registered Manager, that has constantly delivered good and outstanding results for the young people who have been placed with in the homes I manage. I enjoy working with other professionals, both internal and external bodies.
I have a proven history with Ofsted and have been registered with them as a registered manager since December 2008 with my current employer. It took me and the team 3 years to accomplish an over all Outstanding rating for the home.
I enjoy working as part of a team, both with in the homes and as part of the senior management team that oversees the company as a whole. I am able to see the big picture, as such I have been able to meet company goals, through consistent and organised practices. I'm known to be skilled in working under pressure and adapting to new situations and challenges to best enhance the organisational shared goals and agreed developments.
In the role of Registered Manager I am always kept busy with the day to day running and management of the two, Ofsted regulated residential provisions. I ensure that the homes meet the standards and expectations of their Statement of Purpose and are fully compliant with legislative and regulatory requirements. As the registered Manager, it is my responsibility to safeguard and promote the general welfare of all the young people we support, and for all to achieve the best outcomes for them.
I currently work in the homes and lead by example to maintain a competent, motivated and confident staff team offering guidance and support to staff at all levels.
Within my daily role and tasks I,
Uk Electronics was my families business and over the years i would help them out when they needed help and support, covering holidays sickness or when big orders came in I was part of the quality and test team to ensure the delivery dates were met.
The supply list was in operation with may councils, this has since been superseded by the use of bank staff or agencies providing short term and on the day cover for schools. I was on the list and when available between holiday seasons and other part time posts, I would pick up. Shifts with the local authority.
I was able to visit one of the special schools in the area, that i had been placed at as part of my training when completing my NNEB, National Diploma in Nursery Nursing. This then led to several temporary contracts, where i would be providing cover for regular members of the e staffing team to take their maternity leave.
I had a varied role and completed many different tasks and duties throughout the school day such as :
Again this had been a placement on my NNEB, vocational course, as I came to the end of my placement, I was also coming the end of my two year course, I was offered the opportunity to complete an application form, which led to me being offered a post at the Greenmount Nursery.
My role was varied, and included some of the following tasks:
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent) and Level 3 & 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare and a willingness to work towards the level 7 qualification
undefinedI supported the company through the accreditation process with The National Autistic Society.
I have over seen all four homes, following the resignation of my colleague who also managed two homes with in the Company.
Supported the full service through out both lock downs and the on going pandemic.
Registered for two homes, on different sites, (approx 20 miles apart)
Managed a constantly short staffed provision, ensuring that the shortfalls don’t impact the quality of care provided for each young person in our care.
As a family we love our dogs and currently have two rescues at home with us. We work closely with a couple of rescues, taking on dogs that may be a little older but still need and deserve a loving home. I also love being outdoors, either walking the dogs or spending time in our garden. I am als a keen crafter, I like to sew, knit, and have attended several craft events and courses with my lifelong friend, we currently have a couple of courses booked over the coming months. I am looking forward to establishing a better home/work life balance, so that I can revisit some of the other things i love to do such as weekends always, attending football matches and going swimming a couple of times a week.
