Assisting the Surgeons during procedures, ensuring all equipment is accounted for both at the beginning, during and end of the procedure.
Preparing the theatre for all procedures.
Management days, ensuring all equipment/implants are ready for the day.
Managing of staff breaks, and any other requirements set by the Theatre team.
Preforming accurately all pre op and post op checks, and all relevant paperwork is carried out accurately. Restocking of the theatre at the end of the day, and getting equipment out for the next days lists.
Assisting in recovery/anaesthetics when required.
Attending the Queen Elizabeth once a week for Robotic Assisted Procedures for Colorectal cancer removals.
During these procedures, I assisted the surgical team as a whole, I scrub regularly for these procedures, assisting the surgeon and Registrar, with any equipment that is required.
I also circulate, ensuring that the Scrub Nurse and Surgical team have anything they need for the procedure.
While also ensuring that any checks and counts that are done are written and logged correctly.
