I’m a friendly and caring support worker with experience helping people with complex needs, including Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, dementia, and mobility difficulties. I help with personal care, safe transfers, and supporting breathing needs like tracheostomy and NIPPY ventilation. I work well with colleagues, enjoy being part of a team, and always try to make sure the people I care for feel safe, comfortable, and looked after.
I support a client with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, providing daily personal care, mobility support, and safe hoist transfers. My role includes tracheostomy care, suctioning, setting up and monitoring NIPPY ventilation, and using a cough-assist machine. I monitor breathing, comfort, and overall wellbeing, and accompany the client to hospital appointments, liaising with medical teams and communicating any concerns clearly. I also offer emotional support during times of distress and keep accurate daily notes while following the care plan.
As a Housekeeping Supervisor at a country house wedding venue, I managed the housekeeping team and made sure bedrooms and event spaces were cleaned and prepared properly. I organised staff, delegated tasks, and worked with management through weekly meetings. I helped set up weddings, welcomed guests for check-in, and liaised with wedding planners to keep everything running smoothly. I kept good hygiene standards throughout the venue, worked closely with the laundry team, and communicated clearly with both staff and guests.
I worked night shifts supporting two gentlemen with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, providing personal care, mobility assistance, and safe hoist transfers. I carried out tracheostomy care, suctioning, and set up and monitored NIPPY ventilation and cough-assist machines. Throughout the night, I monitored their breathing, comfort, and overall wellbeing, responding promptly to any needs. I also maintained accurate night-time records and followed individual care plans to ensure their safety and comfort.
I worked as a night care assistant at an elderly people’s home, helping residents with a variety of needs. I supported them with personal care, including toileting, pad changes, and getting ready for bed, and assisted those with mobility issues and dementia. I carried out hourly checks, kept care plans up to date, and worked closely with nurses and other staff. I also did light housekeeping to keep the environment safe and comfortable, making sure residents were looked after throughout the night.
