Alongside my detailed, more substantial roles, I have a variety of volunteer and field school experiences in my portfolio. These include:

Isle of Arran field school with the University of Glasgow (August 2023)

Prehistoric Suffolk field school (July 2024)

Norton Disney volunteer project alongside Allen Archaeology (June 2025) via Wings to the Past

Lincolnshire South Common test pit community excavation (August 2025) in partnership with BGU and ARU via Wings to the Past

Assisted in a three-day commercial test pit project for a housing development in Egremont, Cumbria.

Excavated, cleaned and recorded thirteen trenches. Further excavation was executed for any possible archaeological features.

Contributed to four phases of community excavation as a volunteer.

Collaborated with experienced local archaeologists from Wardell Armstrong and Gerry Martin Associates Ltd.

Acquired skills in handling small and large tools, technical equipment, and artefacts.

Practiced archaeological recording methods including context sheets, drawings, and finds documentation.

Gained insight into project management principles and health and safety regulations.

Followed specific methodology to uphold the integrity and validity of the project.

Engaged daily with members of the public to support the accessibility of archaeology and enhance the experience of the community.

I was selected for a local radio interview to promote the project due to my confident communication skills.

Worked on a compact food and coffee truck in Glasgow Botanic Gardens.

Handled food preparation, cooking and storage appropriately.

Implemented hygiene protocols throughout daily duties ensuring safe food handling.

Provided excellent customer service, ensuring guest satisfaction.

Operated in every role of the truck, interchangeable according to the staffing needs.

Money handling and customer-facing role.

Worked as a volunteer for a charity providing educational and recreational services for those with learning or physical disabilities as well as anyone else who may need it.

Services included angling, woodwork, gardening, special events and fundraisers.

Founded a diverse range of skills while creating a deep understanding of levels of communication, companionship, teamwork and compassion.
