Work History

Customer Sales Assistant

Ikea
Westbrook
02.2024 - Current
  • My current role as Customer Sales Assistant at Ikea involves dealing with customer enquiries in the homeware, plants and picture frames department. I stock shelves, I answer customer enquiries relating to stock, I keep the department clean and tidy and add stock and clean the department after customers have left in readiness for the next working day. Another part of my job role at Ikea is organising stock and making space for the next delivery of stock that comes every night and ensuring that space can be made for the replenishment team to fill the shelves so that the spaces are filled correctly. Stock checking is another part of my job role at Ikea which I would do on early morning shifts before the customers arrive in store to ensure that the number of stock in the system is the same as what is actually on the shelves. Working at Ikea has enabled me to expand my customer service skills and further my knowledge on stock control.

  • In my previous role as a crew member at McDonalds I gained experience in a front-line customer service environment as my role dealt with customers face to face on every shift I worked. I have gained experience of working in a busy and stressful environment and dealing with difficult situations. I am always polite and friendly to customers and I have maintained excellent customer satisfaction by providing an attentive, polite and friendly service. I work well as part of a team which is essential to ensure orders were completed swiftly and accurately and to the high standard expected. One of my most valuable attributes is my flexibility to adapt to new and challenging situations quickly and confidently. In my previous position, I would be given a number of different roles to fulfil during the shift depending on how busy the shift was. I will always give my best in each role to fulfil the tasks to the best of my ability. I have gained skills in cash handling and taking card payments when working on the tills in the store.
