I am a loyal employee who is willing to learn and work hard. I have been at my job for around 4 years which shows my dedication to my work. I am flexible and enjoy learning new skills, especially when I can apply my passion of history to the area of work.
My main responsibilities involve working events at the university by providing information and a helping hand. I often work open days where I answer questions that families and prospective students have. This job has helped my communication skills as I have learnt how to effectively communicate my point. This job has also allowed me to elaborate on my passion of history as I often work answering questions about my course on open days.
As a volunteer for the National Trust, I am putting my history degree into practice by explaining the history of the house I work in to visitors. I also make sure that the visitors have the best experience at the house by communicating with them and answering any questions they might have. This role has provided me with an opportunity to improve my confidence in a historical setting.
My main responsibilities as the Kitchen Assistant is washing dishes. However, I also chat to the residents when I make them cups of tea. I am often in charge of food preparation such as making sandwiches and soup for dinner. I also help the chef to dish up lunches and I often serve the food to the residents. This job has taught me how to communicate effectively and has helped me develop empathy for those around me.
