Job Description in Operating Room:
Verified patient name, name of the surgeon, anesthesiologist and surgery to be performed verbally with patient (e.g. inspection of patient’s armband and chart, mandatory requirement include valid signed and dated informed consent form and record (recent) of patient health history and physical examination such as; laboratory data, x-rays and etc.
Ensured welfare and well being of patient while inside surgery department.
Changed into operative clothing, scrub hands and arms, put on sterile gowns and gloves.
Performed all medical pre-requisites for a patient to undergo surgery (e.g. IV insertion, double checking pre-operative checklist, shaving, denture, nail polish check etc.)
Scrub Nurse alternately Circulating Nurse to surgeon in various operative procedures.
Made pre-operative visits (e.g. preparing patient physically, emotionally, psychologically and spiritually by explaining procedures.)
