Summary

In May 2020 I finished my health and social care diploma at Bromley college with a level 3 year 2 health and social care extended diploma. I achieved a triple grade distinction distinction merit. I am someone who is keen to use and build on the skills I have gained whilst being a student but more importantly throughout my most recent job as a family monitor. I am committed to providing service users with centred holistic care and support. Throughout my work experience as a carer for children with special needs, carer for the elderly , Pre - school assistant and a primary school assistant I have always shown holistic care and support to service users and always looking for ways to improve there lives and well being. My work experience and work in Jamma Umoja has made me even more passionate about positively impacting peoples lives and helping people by providing support. I am well-organised and pride myself on my excellent service skills. I believe that I have demonstrated the skills and qualities that would be an asset to an employer and I am eager to find an opportunity to utilise them.

  • When I first started at Bedonwell junior school in April I was with a teaching assistant agency. I was then offered a full time position In September.
  • I also work as a SEN Midday supervisor.
  • My role is to support one child at lunch time and keep an eye on him.
  • I have worked with different children with various different needs and ages.
  • My role is to look after and support the children with there needs on a day to day basis and to help them them achieve the best outcome.
  • Some of my roles include: Helping children with there school work and explaining things to them in a simpler way. For instance in maths I use wooden blocks to help with addition and subtraction.
  • To carry out interventions to help children with there needs, for example emotions group, speech and language sessions, social skills groups etc. These groups help the children to work on the things they struggle with.

  • Whilst working at Jamma Umoja I started out as a bank worker in October 2020 and then became a permanent family monitor in June 2021.
  • My role is to protect, support and promote the welfare of children and their parents whilst undergoing a parenting assessment.
  • I would act as a positive role model throughout direct work, to create a safe environment which would allow for the best outcomes to be achieved.
  • Some of my job role included, the following: To maintain accurate recordings of all involvement and observations of families in an appropriate manner.
  • To escort families out of the unit on shopping trips or to appointments (i.e.court, statutory, medical, housing, finance).
  • To observe and record contacts between families and there children.
  • Overall being a support to the families and helping them through there assessments and get the best outcomes.
