Providing sustainability advice to other departments to support business objectives including guiding sustainable procurement implantation, supplier reviews, fleet decarbonisation and estate management.

Supporting colleagues in the HSQE team with environmental requirements and incident response and investigation.

Production of internal and external communications and disclosures relating to environment and sustainability.

Delivering a monthly all staff briefing to raise awareness and share knowledge on a pertinent environmental topic.

Supporting the HSQE team as an internal auditor.

Identifying opportunities for innovation and best practice.

Guiding the selection of data collection and reporting tools to support Scope 3 data collection and analysis.

Key Achievements

Overhauling the carbon accounting and reporting process, significantly increasing the robustness of the assessment and outputs.

Developing a Carbon Reduction Policy for the business, supported by a detailed Carbon Reduction: Net Zero Strategy and associated decarbonisation road maps and actions plans.

Revising the Environment and Sustainability Policy to align with legislative changes and business ambitions. Underpinned by a detailed strategy document.

Supporting the successful certification for PAS 2080.

Completing BSI Internal Auditor Training.

Outline
Responsible for the Group internal ESG function, reporting to the SLT & working within the Group Assurance function, collaborating closely with colleagues in HSQE, Communications, HR, Finance, Fleet & Facilities. Providing strategic ESG direction & management of all aspects of internal ESG, sustainability & associated project delivery across six subsidiary businesses.
Key Responsibilities
• Carbon Footprint Assessment & Reporting (Scopes 1, 2 & 3) & development of carbon reduction plans.
• Carbon Reduction - Greening of the Fleet & Facilities - driving data & evidence based sustainable improvements to company fleet & real estate.
• Submitting monthly ESG reports to the Board and accountable for delivery and reporting against private equity investor KPIs.
• Tracking & reporting ESG metrics & annual ESG disclosure reporting, including SECR & investor progress reports.
• Input to private sector client bids and public sector framework tenders, supporting with ESG disclosures & advising on social value commitments.
• Communicating ESG within the Group of businesses, driving employee engagement.
• Developing and implementing a wide range of projects from employee volunteering opportunities, establishing PPE and IT re-use and recycling, improvements to waste management, procurement & supplier management.

development of the internal ESG function & managing an intern. This role evolved into having overall responsibility
for the planning & delivery of internal ESG as Group ESG Manager.

the assessment of environmental risks & identification of site constraints, providing contaminated land &
groundwater services to clients across a range of sectors. Additional capability & interest in sustainability,
supporting key clients to deliver sustainability projects, with a focus on the reduction of single use plastic within
large public & private sector organisations.
Key Responsibilities
• Site characterisation & risk assessment - Environmental Due Diligence, including large multisite portfolio
projects
• Project management & delivery of high quality & accessible technical reports.
• Specialist technical skills including highways water risk assessment, DQRA, remediation supervision,
monitoring, hydrogeological assessments and EIA.

Key Achievements
• Secondment to HMRC to act as Deputy Head of Sustainable Estates to deliver key tasks & projects during a
period of staff absence. Establishing effective relationships with colleagues across HMRC & delivering a number
of priority tasks including quality assurance of energy data, contribution to cross-government reports, devising
a sustainability communications strategy, co-ordinating a cross-disciplinary team & organising & facilitating
stakeholder workshops. The secondment was increased from 6 weeks to 5 months with additional follow up
consultancy support.
• Selected to join the Geo-Environmental Innovation Group to contribute my ideas for enhancing the
Geo-Environmental business, to develop sustainability as a key feature of the brand.
• Awarded a 'rising star' bonus of £3,500 recognising contributions to the company in seeking to embed sustainability within operations.
