Emily Frances Ippolito

Emily Frances Ippolito is a talented composer with a profound appreciation for the emotional power of music in film. She gained recognition for her work on the award-winning short film Sonya, directed by Pablo Florencio, for which she won Best Original Score at the Gothamite Film Awards in August 2022. Emily has also contributed to a variety of notable projects, including her debut feature film, The Difference Between Us, directed by Etienne Kubwabo.
Her diverse career spans multiple genres, having composed scores for a range of short films. These include The Fuscos, a 1975-set crime drama by Jennie Girardo, Curiosity, a short horror film by Michael Cooke, One Way, an animated film by Verónica Valdeón Noya, and Tide, directed by Mark Zerop. Emily’s versatility as a composer is evident in her ability to craft music across drama, animation, and horror.
Emily holds a master’s degree in Music Composition for Screen from the University of Edinburgh. In addition to her work as a composer, she is also an author and podcast cohost, currently developing a children’s picture book series titled Teyla Kai’s Adventures.
